Background

Roy’s Restaurant first opened in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii by no other than the man himself, Roy Yamaguchi. The James Beard Award Winner has since grown his empire to include 20 establishments across the continental U.S. Born in Tokyo, Yamaguchi graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York at age 19, and then moved to Las Angeles where he became an executive chef at La Serene. After establishing his career as a master chef, he decided to open up his own restaurant.

If you’re leaning towards a hot appetizer, try a Vegetable Spring Roll, Lobster Bisque, Szechaun Spiced Pork Ribs, Lobster Potstickers, or Canoe Appetizer for Two. Of course, the menu is constantly changing to incorporate a mix of seasonal favorites and new culinary creations.
