So What is a Girl Comp Exactly?
Las Vegas nightclubs and dayclubs create promotions like a "Girl Comp" to drive business into their club or pool to make it look filled, especially during the week when business might be slow. Until the party heats up, it benefits the club if they fill it with groups of attractive Vegas girls. This creates a much better vibe, plus guys are naturally drawn to places filled with beautiful Vegas party girls As an incentive, the girls get free bottle service of choice. The caveat is they must arrive at the club when it opens.
The bigger the event, the more attractive the girls have to be to get a comp, if at all.
A club with a mid-level headliner is more likely to give out girl comps than clubs with mega-headliners where tables get sold out quickly.
Between the real estate and the comped alcohol, a girl comp is worth about $1,000 to the club, so they get very particular when approving which comps get sat. On the other hand, if it's a slow night and the club is not overbooked with tables, they may seat most comp reservations, which would not be the case on a busier night. Proper etiquette indicates that you take care of your cocktail server, especially since the bottle is free. The normal tipping range is $75-$100 per bottle. A larger group of 10+ with a couple of bottles, should tip $150-$200.
