It's no secret that the blazing sun of the desert is at its pique in the mid months of July and August, yet these months are amongst the most popular in terms of tourists traveling to Las Vegas. Part of that may just be the general ambiance that Sin City takes on during the summer and these travelers are just hoping to catch glimpses of the gorgeous fare that grace the city with their slick, bikini-clad bodies throughout the summer. If there's one other saving grace when traveling to the Las Vegas desert in the summer, it's the almost innumerable amount of resort pools that guests will have access to.
Starting at the far west side of the Strip is the luxury resort hotel Mandalay Bay. This is a statement that may be argued by some, but Mandalay Bay is home to one of the best pools in Las Vegas. Simply staring at it through an overlooking window gives the feeling that you've settled in at a tropical resort, and you should expect to be spending your vacation sipping pina coladas from a coconut. A sandy beach-like area lines the relaxing main area while a wave adds a bit of excitement to the tropically themed area. Rivaling Mandalay in pool-side activities is the MGM Grande, which adds an extra depth to the concept of relaxing waterside. Set apart from the regular area is a snaking lazy river that loops around like a ride at a water park. Tubes are made available by the hotel to give the laziest of the lazy a place to lie down as the water drifts them around in one big circle. While these two resorts may have the most elaborate set-up, that's not to say the pools on the rest of the Strip are not worth visiting – in fact, far from it. From the west end to the far east side of Las Vegas Boulevard, there are numerous and luxurious.
It is no exaggeration that every hotel on the Strip has a pool to go along with it. While not every one of them takes on that "resort" feel, all of them work as points of relaxation for those needed a day of r & r. Every parties on the Strip (even the smaller, lesser known ones) is equipped with a varying array of essentials to keep its guests entertained and comfortable. The public ones, which require no more than a keycard from the corresponding hotel, typically offer simple cabana and lounge rentals for a guaranteed spot to lay poolside. Cabana rentals (which can be take care of at BachelorVegas.com) typically come equipped with mini bars (or wait service), flat-screen TV's, and comfortable seating for a group of people. This luxury comes at a cost, though, and can range anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand, depending on the day. While these public ones are family friendly, one must remember that they are vacationing in a place called Sin City. While nudity is not allowed in all public facilities, the lack of material used to make some of the present day bathing suits may be a little shocking to some – and are considerably inappropriate for those underage eyes.
If you're not the family type and prefer to spend your time at the pool in the company of adults only, you'll want to consider paying to enter one of the many private day clubs in the area. These private dayclubs; which include the likes of WET Republic at the MGM, Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel, the Encore Beach Club, and the Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay; require a small fee but are listed as 21 and older to ensure a more mature environment. At these clubs, guests will generally have access to a full service bar (or two) which serves premium liquor and foreign and domestic beers. House DJ's will keep the atmosphere alive, ensuring a mix of house and Top 40 to bring a little flare to the atmosphere. Unlike the regular resort day clubs, these private areas seem more like ongoing parties with continuous rivers of alcohol, a pounding bass, and plenty of scantily clad guests dancing the day away. During the weekends, these private beaches turn into hot party spots. A spot like Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel has been known to bring in thousands of guests during its Sunday party. Other parties like the one at Nikki Beach Club bring in a considerable crowd, and can always be counted on if you're looking to snag the sight of a celebrity guest. These weekend pool parties tend to increase the price of everything the private beach offers, from cabanas to cover charge.
Whether you're in Las Vegas for a pesky business trip or are on a nice vacation with the intent to take in many of Sin City's sights, if the sun is blazing, there is always a need for a nice day at the pool. Though the strip of hotels along Las Vegas Boulevard may seem large, where you're staying on the Strip will always grant you access to at least one of the Strip's numerous resort styled pools – and it's a guarantee you'll be within a close proximity of a private beach for a more adult affair. No matter your reason for visiting the City of Lights, you owe it to yourself for surviving the brutal sun to take relax by a peaceful daylife.
