The Wynn Hotel and Casino has been signed for a second year, for the hit show, Spamalot to play in Las Vegas throughout 2007. The show is based on the movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The musical adaptation of the show, Spamalot, is a Tony award winning show that ran on Broadway before heading out to various cities across the United States. In this musical, King Arthur, and his less than proper knights of the round table go on a quest to search for the Holy Grail. As they do, hilarity ensues.
This year, Spamalot has debuted at its new location, in a refurbished, custom built theater, that was adapted and renovated from the original Avenue Q Theater at the Wynn. This brand new, remodeled theater allows patrons to have a more in depth Spamalot experience. This stage, the "Spamalot Experience and Grail Theater", was designed specifically for the Wynn by the creator of the show, Eric Idle, with the assistance of the show's original costume and set designer, Tim Hatley.
Spamalot opened to audiences on May 31, 2007, at the Wynn. At the present time, the cast includes John O'Hurley in the main role as King Arthur. Audiences may recognize O'Hurley from Seinfeld and Dancing with the Stars. You can purchase tickets to Spamalot show, with the theater boasting 1,500 seats. However, this large theater fills up quite fast, so you will want to order them in advance.
