The overall feel when you enter Retox is kind of like Alice in Wonderland, when she's taking one of the pills. It's trippy merely because the bare bones, rock and roll dive appearance (exposed brick and all) is mixed with the elite style that Chelsea is known for, including mirrors lined in gold frames, crystal chandaliers, and candles lined around indiscriminately. In this, Retox has been able to glamorize Rock n' Roll and keep it nitty gritty all at the same time.
This club features live performances for some of the biggest names in the Rock n' Roll and Alternative genres. Those who have played or will play at Retox include Scott Weiland (of Stone Temple Pilots), Papa Roach, and Cypruss Hill. Throughout the week, an eclectic mix of music will be played, though Rock n' Roll is almost always a central theme. Other styles of music you can expect to hear at Retox are House, 80s tunes, and Hip Hop.
If you plan to stop by at Retox, make sure to have plenty of cash on hand. With all that the club has to offer, you can expect to pay a pretty penny from the door fee to the price it costs for a shot (which is said to be close to $25 a piece).
