Clubbing 101
Surviving on the Las Vegas Strip can be a difficult feat at times, depending on what you're doing and where you're going. When it comes to clubbing, if you're a first timer you're going to find yourself moderately intimidated. Even walking by the higher end discotech like TAO, Intrigue or XS may give you the shakes as that feeling of trepidation courses through you. There's really no need to feel intimidated or anxious about these locales, though. There is plenty of room for newcomers like you; it just takes some outside direction to get used to. If you're going to want to join the nightlife scene, you'll just want to follow these five simple guidelines.
1. Dress Code
Every venue has its own dress code policy, but they all pretty much say the same thing.
1.a) Guys:
Jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers are like an insult to a venue and will guarantee that you get turned away immediately, so leave your weekend attire at home. Board shorts, bathing suites, flip flops, sweat pants, lounge pants, tank tops – all of these things are in the past for you now. Your weekend evenings should now consist of dress pants, a button down shirt, and dress shoes. Seriously. Don't try anything different.
1.b) Gals:
There is a little more leniency when it comes to your mode of dress, but all of those "Don't Wear" articles of clothing still pertain to you. Short dresses, blouses, high heels, non-sandal flats – these will be your main staples. Just remember, with heels, that you'll be dancing, so wear comfortable shoes!
2. Pre-arrange Limo
There's no doubt that, during your night out, you'll be taking part in some alcoholic indulgences. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course, so long as you play it safe. Always make sure that you're not the one driving. Always have a designated driver or, at the very least, pre-arrange transportation. One of the best things you can do, as everything is handled prior to your stages of drunken stupor kicking in, is to go with a limousine transfer. What better way to end the night than by stepping into the luxury and comfort of your very own stretch limousine. Do whatever you must, just don't go from constant drinking to driving yourself back to your hotel.
3. Go for VIP
You may have heard of VIP as if it were some sort of fabled myth. In all actuality, there is a way to be a VIP any of Sin City's establishments – and it's quite simple. Utilizing a service like Bachelor Vegas, all you have to do is say "I want to go to this hot spot", fork over a little cash, and voila, you're VIP. Seriously, it's that simple; and the perks are beyond impressive. When you show up, you'll have your own VIP host who will escort right past the line – just ignore the dirty looks you'll get from other patrons. You'll be seated at your own private VIP table and will be on the receiving end of a premium bottle of liquor. Private seating and free liquor aside, being able to simply walk into a club is one of the best feelings you'll ever have.
4. Never Party Alone
This is mostly just so you don't look like some sad sap, but it also almost always guarantees an eventful night. Clubbing alone is a lot like going to the movies by yourself – you may enjoy what you see, but there is a certain something missing from the experience. Bringing along friends amplifies your evening and, if you have an attractive enough crowd, may help to grab the attention of the opposite sex.
Gals, you'll definitely find this to be a safe maneuver as well. Safety in numbers, they always say!
5. Start Small!
Listen, we understand. You're excited to get out into the world of Sin City hot spots, but it's very easy to take a misstep and wind up having a miserable time. Nobody is saying your first time has to be at some extravagant location like XS at the Wynn or Surrender at the Encore. There are plenty of toned down locales, such as Hyde at the Bellagio, that offer a more lounge hybrid atmosphere. These will help you get settled in to the experience so you can start hitting the harder clubs. Think of it like skiing – you shouldn't immediately jump for the black diamond!
So, there it is - a simplified guide. Follow it and you may soon find yourself become a nightlife aficionado. Don't forget your friends at Bachelor Vegas, either! We can make your nightlife considerably easier.
