The Raven, located in the Meatpacking District of New York City, is a hip basement club with unique Edgar Allan Poe-inspired décor. Influenced by one of Poe’s most popular poems “The Raven”, the nightclub is adorned with gothic iconography, red and blue velvet, and tufted leather sofas. There’s even a quote from the widely known poem written on the darkened stairwell as you enter the club. This intimate, upscale club and lounge spins some of today’s best music and the party doesn’t slow down until morning.
Situated at 55 Gansevoort Street, The Raven is open from Thursday through Saturday from 11 PM to 4 AM and has a total capacity of 400 people. It mainly plays hip hop, house music, and top 40 hits and is the place to go if you want to dance the night away. Nightlife attire is required for entry, and expect a wait time of one to two hours to get in. Throw a private party in the nightclub, splurge on bottle and table service, or just spend a few hours partying with friends in the dimly-lit space.

The Raven isn’t like any other nightclub in this area of New York City. With an underground den feel, the laidback lounge offers the perfect balance of comfort and luxury, mixed with a hint of debauchery. The room features a variety of awe-inspiring art pieces by the likes of Bradley Rothenburg, Yana Tara, Harif Guzman, and Ksenya Roz. The subterranean nightclub also has a spacious dance floor and plenty of seating nooks to slip into when you need a break from dancing.
One of the most fitting details of the nightclub is the large hanging piece of embroidery that reads “Fuck You Sunrise”. In another area, a sign reads “How to disappear in New York without a trace”. With these sediments in your head, relax with a cocktail and listen to the DJ spin his latest mix.
